  • How would you describe them?

"Pattie was my beloved uncle, always interested in what I was doing, always ready to help me in any way he could."

    From Hannah Mahapatra

  • What did they love most?

"Pattie loved his family above all all - his "Mrs Sheard", Wendy, his boys and all of us and he was always the life and soul of any party."

    From Hannah Mahapatra

Patrick (or Pat, or Pattie, depending on how you knew him) was a beloved husband, step-dad, granddad, brother, uncle, great uncle, nephew, cousin, friend and colleague. He was the life and soul of every family gathering and we miss him greatly. Writing about Pattie in a handwritten letter, Louis his 14 year old great-nephew summed up how many of us feel saying that Pattie "was a LEGEND and he will NEVER be forgotten".

With this fund, we want to remember Pattie's kindness and his service to others. The work done by Macmillan Cancer Support is quite simply life-saving, often in the face of death, and we feel that a fund for the benefit of others is a fitting way of remembering him. Thank you for joining us in commemorating his life in this way.

Patrick's death has come as a great shock. I will miss a friend and colleague, whose perceptiveness and wit enlivened the day.

  • Mrs Catherine Young 20/06/2020

I feel like I have lost a very dear friend and consider myself lucky to have some very precious memories from the short time that we worked together as Councillors. They will keep me smiling for a long time. He was such a good, kind man and I will miss him terribly.

  • Mr Tom Hunt 20/06/2020

I only got to know Patrick since he was elected to the council, but I shall miss his dry wit and thoughtful contribution.
