This fund is for two reasons.

Cancer is horrible, evil disease which has effected someone you know. I've lost a Surragate grandmother to Ovarian Cancer, My maternal Grandfather to Prostate Cancer and my Mother to Non-Hodgkin's Lymphona (Type of Blood Cancer).

I would not wish this disease and experience on anybody and I cannot emphasize the effect devastating effect Cancer has and my one wish is that not another person ever has to go through even a fraction of what I went through.

My mum, suffered for 7 years with Cancer. From the moment we found out in September 2009, things were never the same. Watching someone going through Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy, the sleepless nights, the rushing home every day from work for the final two weeks in St Christophers Hospice.

We had good days and bad days, however Charities like Macmillan genuinely do help. I remember them helping Mum with things like Furniture when we didn't have any, they took Mum for days out and a weekend away to rest and relax, they provided carers as well when my sister and I couldn't be there. They did everything possible make my Mum's life comfortable until St Christophers Hospice took over.

For my birthday, 14th September, I'm someone who prefers that a kind gesture is passed on to someone else rather than giving a gift to me, for this year, I would love if a donation is made to Macmillan, no matter how big or small.

Thanks for reading.
