Betty's Big Bash

The Betty's Big Bash Event

Betty's Big Bash took place on Friday 1st April 2011 at Shotton Hall Banqueting Suite, Peterlee.

280 of Betty's family and friends joined together to celebrate Betty’s life and to raise money for Macmillan.

The fundraiser was Carole and Lynne's idea and took months of organisation by all concerned. We hoped to sell maybe 180 tickets and raise £3,000 to £4,000. The 180 tickets quickly became 280, we couldn’t get any more people in!

The event featured four professional dancers from "encore" at Newcastle dance centre, local band "Four Worried Men" The Academ

The event featured four professional dancers from "encore" at Newcastle dance centre, local band "Four Worried Men" The Academy at Shotton Hall's steel band, a cabaret, auction and raffle.

The highlight was a tribute to the comedy dance sensation Stavros Flatley from Britain’s Got Talent, featuring Lynne's husband Pete and Carole's son Scot, which raised £560. They brought the house down!!

She said: “Everyone was so supportive, donating holidays as raffle prizes and superb entertainment."
