The Lily Foote tribute fund
Lily was the last child in a family of 5. She was born in Aberdeen and lived there until she was 20. At 18 she married her first love, Harry, and together they shared over 50 years of fun and travel. They moved to Upminster for Harry's work and Lil began working at a window company, where she eventually became a director.
Lily loved gardening, solving puzzles and finding out what was happening in the neighbourhood. She was a sharp, intelligent woman who always defended the little guys and would not be bowled over by corporate unjust. She spent years caring for Harry through his dialysis and dementia.
She died of lung cancer in Febuary. She will be missed by her family, especially Harry.

Leigh's perspective
the things I'll always remember about Aunt Lil are: when she broke her hip and didn't cry - she was very very tough, that she was very sharp to the end, that she worried incessantly, that she liked to pass on her knowledge she taught me bits about gardening and knitting, that she liked to make other people happy, even people who she didn't know (for example she knitted baby blankets for charity shops) and that she loved Uncle Harry so much.
