In June 2009 my Dad was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer, and in February 2010 within 8 months of diagnosis, he had lost his fight to this disease. On 2nd July 2011 I took part with Team Macmillan for the British Gas Great London Swim to raise money in memory of him. This one mile event took place at the rejuvenated London Docklands area of the Thames and is the biggest outdoor swimming event in the South of England. This year is my second year in taking part in this event. I am entering along with Emily Hall and Danielle Agar in the Great Manchester British Gas Swim in Salford Quays on 1st July.
