Will really miss Pinners, His genuine and deeply personable style made a deep impression on me and many others. RIP chap.

A wonderful man. Full of honesty, care and fun. Brilliantly took life in his stride and I can't think of anyone more upbeat and optimistic at all times.David will be very much missed.

Not once during his illness did I hear David complain - that's just the guy he was. We played golf as recently as a few months back and he was his normal bundle of energy and wit. "Rotherham you can't even beat a sick man - you're useless" he shouted on the 18th green.He taught me a lesson in golf as well as courage. Pinners, we will all miss you incredibly.

David was the business genteman we all inspired to be. He was lovely to be aorund and set the standard for cooperation and collaboration. He will be missed but never ever forgotten. God rest his soul.

Dave/Lovey/Brother, you are sorely missed.
Many great memories that won\'t fade. Usually involving you rescuing me from my own incompetence, be it in the Sea or up a mountain. Tequilla in far away bars seems to feature as well.
Lets have another!
Our thoughts still firmly with Mel, Toby, Henry and the rest of the Pinningtons.

I will miss you. Your sense of fun, you ability to cut to the chase, your positive attitude, your straightforwardness and your friendship. You are an inspiration to us all. God bless you and your family.

We have fond memories of David. It was of little surprise that David would become so successful, so quickly. His affable approach, energy and natural leadership gave clients and colleagues a sense of confidence which meant he was at the centre of many ground breaking industry deals. So whilst he is considered one of our most esteemed alumni and a huge loss to the industry, more importantly, we remember him as our friend ‘Pinners’.

David, you did so much for us. You will never be forgotten. Never. Not as a professional and for sure not as a person.
Our thoughts are with you,

With condolences to your family, from all your friends at McLaren.

So so sorry to learn of David's untimely passing - a wonderful,happy man. He will be missed by all who's lives were richer for knowing him.

David was one of those people that doesn't come along very often in life - great fun, energetic, a love of life, ambitious, personable, popular, intelligent with a can do approach to everything. The word everyone uses when describing David is 'inspirational' and it sums him up perfectly.
You will be hugely missed David, but we can all learn something from the way you were and your approach to life.
Thank you for the great times.
Love Andy, Jo, Ben & Daisy

David was the brightest of bright lights.

David was such an amazing person, mentor and friend. I have such wonderful memories of knowing him and I will cherish them forever.

Pinners was a great mate and colleague for many of us at Synergy. Many great memories of a guy that made us all laugh. His sense of humour will be much missed by many.

David was a great inspiration to be around. From our first meeting he felt like a mentor, always keen to give more than he received. His business sense was amazing and he was bloody straight off the tee!! I never did beat him at golf. David, the courage you showed in fighting this hideous disease summed you up. No fuss, just get on with it. We'll miss you mate but you made every one of our worlds a little better. Rest in peace.

I feel so privileged and proud to have worked with David so closely over the years. To watch him in action was truly inspiring. His depth of knowledge, his constant enthusiasm, his ability to bring the very best out in people and all his passion and drive for life… he was simply brilliant!

I will so miss his sense of humour, his banter, the plans to take over the world and all the laughter.

To an amazing friend, mentor and leader – thank you for everything.

For so many reasons both personal and professional. And with so much respect and admiration. You will never be forgotten. Sam and Richard. xx

We will all miss him but we are all better for knowing him.

I will miss your overflowing enthusiasm, camaraderie, and support. Now I will treasure even more the memories of the times we spent together preparing presentations for sceptic foreign operators- -or running and jesting as children our through the forest paths and fields around Newbury in fine English rain. While I live I shall carry your smile and good humor in my heart as an inspiration.

David was one of life's great guys. His positivity and enthusiasm were contagious. A constant reminder to live life to the full he is an inspiration to us all. Wonderful to work with but more importantly a trusted friend. Thank you for the words of wisdom Pinners - you will never be forgotten

David often used to come and work near my desk and he always made me smile, the way he bounced in to the office, full of smiles and laughter. Not matter how stressful the situation, David would always find the fun in work and was infectious to everyone around him - to carry on exactly in this way throughout his illness was quite incredible to me. He was a very, very special man

David was a total inspiration who'll be sorely missed by everyone who met him.

Pinners you were a joy to be with always in all environments with all manner of people. I will always remember the laughs we shared and the positive values you demonstrated regardless of the situation. I will miss you my colleague, cheeky golf mate, much respected, valued and admired friend.

David, you were greatness in everything you did. You will always be a reminder to me to live each day, like you lived your life. To the absolute fullest, with energy, passion and brilliance.
I treasure the time you invested in me as a mentor and a friend and I feel lost knowing that our coffee dates have come to an end. You are one amazing man and one that I will hold close to my heart always. With all my love, Belinda xxx

So lucky to have known and worked with you Pinners. You will remain an inspiration to me always and will be terribly missed. It won't be the same without you. Much love to your family.

David will always be remembered and hopefully this fund will proudly bear his name in helping others - something he would have wanted.

One of the genuine good guys who will be sorely missed. An inspiration to us all, both in our personal and professional lives. Our thoughts are with your family.

David was a complete inspiration. I considered him a mentor, a leader and a friend.

I feel privileged to have known him and worked with him. I have never met someone so universally liked. The bravery he showed during his battle was nothing short of incredible.

What a man! He will never be forgotten.

Huge inspiration, so unbelievably brave and such a nice guy.

David - one of the nicest guys anyone could wish to meet, funny, genuine, kind and contagiously positive and optimistic. You'll be sadly missed by everyone. My thoughts are with your family. Joanne

We will all miss you Pinners.

It was a true pleasure to have worked with you. Always fun, open minded and true.

David was an inspiration and spending time with him was a joy. He enriched our lives with his positive attitude, natural charm and charisma which always shone through in even the most difficult of situations. One of life’s greats, he will always have a special place in my heart and will be sorely missed. Sending love and thoughts to his family.

David was one of life's very special people, an eternal optimist, a bundle of energy and a man who always saw the bright side of the road and when death stared him in the face he taught us all a valuable lesson (and i quote David) Life is too short to put up with all the bullshit that goes on in the corporate world, tell it like it is , cut through the crap and just do the right thing! We should honour his memory by living that learning. I will miss him , with love and thoughts for his family

You are an inspiration. Thank you for all the fun memories and the endless support personally and professionally. You have been the greatest friend to me - I miss you desperately and always will.

I was consistently humbled by David's optimism, love for life and generosity of spirit. He loved his life and always spoke of his family with such love and pride. My thoughts and prayers are with David's loved ones at this difficult time.

You are a complete inspiration to me and a constant reminder to remember the important things in life. Thanks for being a great colleague but more importantly a true friend.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam (RIP)

A more inspirational colleague one could not wish for.
A greater friend one could not hope for.
A prouder husband and father one could not believe.
A finer man one seldom meets.

When Rudyard Kipling wrote 'IF' he might well (in parts for I have never met anyone who so much as disliked him) have written it about David Pinnigton so please allow me to share it with you.

IF

IF you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
' Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

David was a wonderful friend, and fun client.

Lots of laughter on the golf courses in Surrey, and beyond.

Always positive; always exuberant. Most of all - he loved his family - Mel and the boys were the centre of his life. He was so happy and proud of them.

We had been planning golf in 2013, and he will be so missed.
